The applications of a combined PEACE and IDEA method in resolving conflicts

 PEACE method is a modern approach to corporate management which is based on Lou Marinoff’s 5-phase approach: Setting the problem, Elaborating the relevant dimensions of the problem, Identification and development of alternative solutions, Contemplation and assessment of potential impact of the various alternatives, and the making of a final decision on the basis of an Equilibrium of the relevant decision-making criteria. The method is relatively straightforward to learn, and has direct applications in all areas of corporate work.

IDEA method is a Stoicism-based technology for corporate mediation and facilitation work in resolving individual, group or organizational conflicts. IDEA stands for a 4-phase technology which includes Identification of the conflict, Distinction between the ‘internal’ and ‘external’ aspects of the conflict, elaboration and targeting of aspects of the conflict which can be resolved in the ‘here-and-now’, and acceptance of those aspects which cannot be addressed now, but can be integrated into a longer-lasting relationship within the organization. The combination of two methods is a highly effective tool for HR management on all levels in medium and large organizations.

 Format of the training:

  • Introductory presentation of the two methods
  • Discussion
  • First workshop on PEACE method based on a case study
  • Debriefing on the first workshop.
  • Second workshop on PEACE method based on a problem relevant to the specific type of organization/company.
  • Debriefing on the second workshop.
  • Third workshop on IDEA method based on a general organizational issue.
  • Debriefing on the third workshop.
  • Concluding workshop on a combination of PEACE and IDEA methods based on a case study.
  • Final discussion.
  • Award of certificates.

Number of participants

Minimum 8, up to 24 participants.

Nature of the certification

Successful participants are certified to consult on PEACE and IDEA methods for 2 years.

Duration

The combined PEACE and IDEA method is offered in two-day packages, and can either be conducted on company premises or in a specialized setting.
